When I first started, I ran into problems understanding different EDM song structures. So I made an android app, and soon an iphone app, that helps break down several genres of EDM step by step to create custom songs with the stock ableton sounds. The idea is to take beginners or intermediate users through the process of making a song start to finish while teaching theory hands-on. I’m not selling it, it is still in developement.
If you have an android phone and would like to use the app for free, please contact me. I currently have three genres built out: Classic House, Afro-House, and Future Bass. I am currently working on more genres, and open to feedback about which ones I should prioritize.
