Serpiente is spanish for serpent, which to us represents shedding of the old and rebirth of the new, like these hatching California red-sided garter snakes on the cover.

This label project was discussed for years, but after the passing of my beloved beastie Velcro 2 years ago, my creative drive disappeared. Slowly I eventually picked up my scissors again, then, suddenly and unexpectedly, I lost my mom last year, which derailed my life and the project. I had shared all my ideas and struggles with my mom about starting a label, including the decision to create a 3D cover. It was an artistic risk and something that has been a defining element of my artistic style for many years. While the 3D effect didn’t fully translate in print, I’m still proud I took that risk.

We are very happy and proud of our first record, and want to thank Jonas for believing in the project and helping us launch the label.
Thank you for the love and support we’ve received so far. More releases on the way!
