If anyone is in the Central Ohio area and wants to help this local group grow please check it out . I started it to hopefully find local people who might want to meet and have “ in person events “ where we can help each other with our projects in person at local public locations , coffee shops etc .
Sometimes sitting with someone who knows more than you or has different ideas than what you’re stuck on can really make a difference. Trying to share project files and seeing “sample offline” when you’re trying to collaborate or help isn’t easy, and you might even make new friends in the process. ????

Hey everyone. New here & looking for advice.

I’m looking at putting together a portable Ableton Studio Setup. Im primarily familiar with the Akai Pro ecosystem, having previously owned the Advanced 49 and MPK261. Preferably id like to stick with the akai line due to familiarity, but not interested in anything MPC related, unless its a compact MPC Keyboard. Was looking more at the APC40 MkII, MIDIMIX, APC Key 25 MkII and MPD218 for finger drumming. But im open to any other suggestions you may have for other small, portable options.

For reference, the reason I don’t like the idea of using strictly a device like any of the standard MPC devices is because I like to be able to play out the chords and melodies on a set of piano keys. Just feels more natural to me as i could never manage to get used to the 4×4 grid of pads on my old MPK261… i also could never figure out, even with the help of Akai Tech Support, how to separate the pads from the keys so that I could have the keys set to a piano/synth sound and the pads to drums like it was always intended.

Again, any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

Hey everybody, I need a little bit of help. I’m somewhat new new to Ableton and I’m starting to get the hang of it. So today I hooked up my Roland spdx pro drum to Ableton. I was able to figure out how to map the different sounds from the drum kits to the receiving notes. The problem I am having is that Ableton is playing the actual note that the spdx pro is sending. So when I send a note from the the pad of the spdx which is for instance C#, Ableton is playing the appropriate drum sound, but it is also playing the actual C# with some generic piano sound. How do I turn off that generic piano sound? I’ve checked the internet and I can’t find anything that addresses that specific problem. Most of the videos tell me how to hook it up to Ableton but I’ve already done that. Thanks I’m advance.
